Easy Edit Grub With Grub Customizer

Grub Customizer is a new graphical GRUB2 settings manager. For now, it only allows you to edit the GRUB2 menu entries: reorder, rename or add/remove entries. Since these are actually scripts which generate the boot.cfg file, Grub Customizer changes the actual script order and then generates a new boot.cfg so if you then run "sudo update-grub", your customization won't be overwritten.
Grub Customizer comes with an Ubuntu PPA (the first packages have been uploaded only a few minutes ago) so to install it in Ubuntu (Lucid, Maverick, Natty), use the following commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:danielrichter2007/grub-customizer
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install grub-customizer

Think after Installing Ubuntu 11.04

Ubuntu 11.04 aka Natty Narwhal is relase. If you upgrading to Natty Narwhal, maybe you can tweak some apss.

Install Compiz Config Manager and tweak it.

sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager
Then search for CompizConfig Settings Manager in Dash and you'll find the Unity-related options under the "Unity" Compiz plugin. Some other options are under other plugins so check those out too.

Using CCSM, you'll be able to tweak the Unity launcher reveal mode, hide behavior, change some Unity-specific keyboard shortcuts, change the Unity launcher icon size, the top panel opacity, tweak various animations and more.

How to Add Facebook Like Button to Blogger

Facebook introduced the new “Like” button which enables your blog visitors to share your blog content on their Facebook profiles with one click. After the launch of this button I have seen many bloggers are adapting it. So why not add it to blogger.
For an example, click the below button to “Like” this post :

First Go to Layout (Design) > Edit HTML and check “Expand Widget Templates”.
Second Find <data:post.body/> and immediately after it add the following script :

<b:if cond='data:blog.pageType == &quot;item&quot;'>
<iframe allowTransparency='true'  expr:src='&quot;http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=&quot;  + data:post.url + &quot;&amp;layout=standard&amp;show_faces=false&amp;width=450&amp;action=like&amp;font=arial&amp;colorscheme=light&amp;height=35&quot;' frameborder='0' scrolling='no' style='border:none; overflow:hidden; width:450px; height:35px;'/>
</b:if>

Note that conditional tags are used to
show these Facebook Like buttons only for post pages. If you want to
show it even in home or archive pages remove these tags marked in red.

    How to create your own QR Codes in Ubuntu

    A QR code (short for Quick Response) is a specific matrix barcode (or two-dimensional code), readable by dedicated QR barcode readers and camera phones. The code consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background. The information encoded can be text, URL or other data.
    Common in Japan, where it was created by Toyota subsidiary Denso-Wave in 1994, the QR code is one of the most popular types of two-dimensional barcodes. QR is the abbreviation for Quick Response, as the creator intended the code to allow its contents to be decoded at high speed.
    The technology has seen a large uptake in Japan and South Korea. However, in the west there has been a considerably slower adoption of QR Codes.

    How can I create a QR code in Linux?

    The creation of QR codes in Ubuntu is simple, albeit command-line based. You will need to install ‘qrencode‘ from the Ubuntu Software Center - you can click here to install it or search for ‘qrencode’ manually.

    Once Qrencode has been successfully installed you can create QR codes using the Terminal and the following command :
    • qrencode -o [filename.png] ‘[text/url/information to encode]‘
    To create a link to the Google homepage with the output file called ‘google.png’ and made in your homefolder  you would run :
    • qrencode -o blogcupu-newbie.png 'http://blogcupu-newbie.blogspot.com'
    This outputs the following: -

    You can make the ‘pixels’ used in the code bigger by using the ‘-s‘ argument. Let’s make the same QR code but with the square pixels increased to 6×6 and have the .png saved to our desktop- or any other directory :
    • qrencode -o ~/Desktop/blogcupu-newbie.png -s 8 'http://blogcupu-newbie.blogspot.com'
      source from OMG! Ubuntu! and Wikipedia
